Abondance cheese has been made for a very long time as in the 14th century it was already being served at the Pope of Avignon’s dinner table!
Abondance cheese has been protected since 1990 by the A.O.C. French label of quality. It is also European A.O.P. recognised. During your visit discover the fascinating history of this gourmet Abondance cheese.
Visits and tastings are organised by the region’s local farmers every week.
Located in the center of the village, daily artisanal production and refining of
Savoie cheeses: Abondance AOP, Tomme de Savoie IGP, Raclette de Savoie IGP, fresh butter, summer cheese “Le Pissenlit”, Tommes and Tomettes “Charlotte”.
Visit the farm of Féto, in the center of the village, discover life on the farm, meet with the cows and demonstration of cheese making farmer followed by the visit of the cellar ripening. Sale of cheese at the farm.
